Les Spruce began his career in 1985 working within the hospital cubicle track fitting industry, before moving into the specialised field of anti-ligature inspection and safety solutions.

Through years of working directly within NHS facilities and secure environments, he developed a deep understanding of the risks present within these settings and the importance of designing safer spaces for vulnerable individuals.

This experience laid the foundation for the development of innovative anti-ligature products designed to meet real-world safety challenges.

How It Started.

The idea for the ALD302 Anti-Ligature Smoke Detector Base was born during an NHS project.

It was identified that a standard smoke detector base had been used as a ligature point during a self-harm attempt. This highlighted a serious issue — even essential safety equipment could unintentionally present a risk.

From this moment, the focus shifted to developing a safer solution.
